Insane footage captures the underground nuclear weapons test conducted by the United States Atomic Energy Commission on November 6, 1971, on Amchitka Island, Alaska.

With an explosive yield of nearly 5 megatons of TNT, this test was the largest underground explosion ever carried out by the U.S.

The blast generated a seismic shock measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale, resulting in rockfalls and landslides covering a total area of 35,000 square feet.
