Air Conditioned Lawnmower, 1957

In October 1957, advertisements introduced the "Power Mower of the Future," showcasing the next generation of lawn mowing equipment.

This innovative machine featured a bubble-shaped model with its own air conditioning system. The lawnmower had a five-foot diameter plastic sphere where the rider sat on an air-foam cushioned seat.

Equipped with an electric generating system, it powered running lights, a radio telephone, air conditioning, and even a cooling system for a chilled drink on a hot day. This versatile machine could mow the lawn, weed, feed, seed, spray for insects, plow snow, and haul equipment. It could even double as a golf cart.

More than just a concept, this machine was featured on the cover of a 1958 edition of Mechanix Illustrated. However, it never went into production.
