social media wasn’t made to promote your music for free. spotify wasn’t made to turn you into a super star. these are tech companies, that are profit hungry, and now in bed with the major labels. but here’s the thing, the reach is gone and spotify numbers only matter to career a&r’s afraid to sign anything different. they want you to think they matter. they don’t. stay focused. out work everyone. make music you love. but don’t for a second think they care about you. it was a trap.
